ABOUT US
We started our program in 2019, after owning so many different breeds but never finding “the one”. Until I got my first French Bulldog. They are the perfect grab and go size, they’re active, they’re cuddly, they have drive, and they adore people. Frenchies are very much a big dog in a small body, but they are hardy and thick enough that they don’t break easy like a lot of small breeds. Plus they are such cuties, how can you not love that big Frenchie smile.
We also run a homestead farm where we raise and grow a lot of our own food for us and the dogs.
Our goal
One of the main reasons I started my own program is because as I fell more in love with this breed, I kept noticing families losing their beloved dogs to things like IVDD, heat stroke, overheating from playing, heart problems, teeth problems, or neurological issues. I would see that those issues also created such fear in Frenchie owners to the point that owners telling other Frenchie owners to not let their dogs out in the heat even if to just go potty because they may get heatstroke and die, and to carry their dogs up and down stairs because so many Frenchies developed IVDD from doing something so simple. That’s not a life any dog or owner should have to live.
So I started looking at what the root cause of these problems were in the breed and its because of people breeding for short, compact dogs with extremely flat faces. The structure of the breed becomes compromised in order to develop the “desired” look. So I decided to do something about it and started my own program. Our goal is to breed for less compact dogs, dogs that don’t have severe underbites, dogs who don’t have compact spines or “kissing spine”, dogs who can be real dogs and not drop dead at 4 years old. As well as good tempered confident puppies that develop into perfect family dogs.
Thus our kennel was born
Our dogs are part of our family, they are all in the house, on the couches, and in our bed at night. We go on daily pack walks on our farm so that everyone gets their exercise and get to explore, get muddy, go swimming and just be dogs. All of our adults have basic obedience and are house trained. Our puppies are raised the same, the first couple weeks they are in our room so we can constantly check on them and momma. The day they come home the puppies are started on puppy culture. Once the puppies can start real food they get introduced to a variety of fresh raw straight from our backyard. Our farm animals are all pasture raised, our dogs and puppies get the best of the best when it comes to food. We want to raise happy confident puppies so we expose them to as much as possible. Once they are old enough they get to start coming on our walks so that they are exposed to even more including our livestock. When they are ready to go home they are either house trained or very close and have the concept down and crate trained to set them up for success with their new families. We are here to support our puppy owners for life, we will always take a puppy back if things don’t work work out.
